American Youth Soccer Organization Providing world class youth soccer programs that enrich children's lives.

AYSO Region 1315 : Mountain's Edge-Enterprise

Are you New to AYSO?

AYSO, American Youth Soccer Organization, was created in 1964 to introduce American children to the wonderful game of soccer. Five decades later AYSO has grown to over 800 regions and 400,000 players. As a non profit organization we are the worlds biggest soccer club. Great soccer starts here!

Our vision
-To provide world class youth soccer programs that enrich children's lives.

Our mission
To develop and deliver quality youth soccer programs which promote a fun, family environment based on our Six Philosophies.
  • Everyone Plays: Our program goal is for kids to play to play soccer so we mandate that each child play 50% of each game (no child can sit out more than one quarter until every child has sat out at least once) It's no fun to spend the game on the bench.....and that's no way to learn soccer!
  • Balanced Teams: Each year we form teams as balanced as possible because it's more fun and a better learning experience when teams of similar ability play. It allows for each player to gain the experience of a wide variety of teammates of different skill levels
  • Open Registration: Our program is open to all children who want to register and play soccer. Interest and enthusiasm are the only criteria for playing. There are no elimination try-outs and nobody gets cut.
  • Positive Coaching: Encouragement of player effort provides for greater enjoyment for the players and leads to better-skilled and better-motivated players. A coach can be one of the most influential people in a child's life, so AYSO requires they create a positive experience for every boy and girl
  • Good Sportsmanship: We strive to create a positive environment based on mutual respect rather than a win-at-all-costs attitude, and our program is designed to instill good sportsmanship in every facet of AYSO.
  • Player Development: We believe that all players should be able to develop their soccer skills and knowledge to the best of their abilities, both individually and as members of a team, in order to maximize their enjoyment of the game.

Volunteer Power
AYSO runs on volunteer power. Our region needs at least one person per family to volunteer in order to have a successful season. We have many volunteer opportunities and provide training for each position. Nearly 150,000 registered volunteers run the local AYSO programs all over the country. Every coach, referee, Regional Commissioner – the list goes on – is a volunteer. Even the National Board of Directors and National President are AYSO volunteers. If it wasn’t for the thousands of volunteers throughout the U.S. donating their time every season, AYSO wouldn’t be as successful and far-reaching as it is today.

Programs
We offer programs for a variety of ages, welcoming all skill levels.

AYSO Playground: This program is for kids 3-4 years old. AYSO Playground uses group activities, soccer themes and requires parent participation to develop the fundamental motor skills that prepare kids for all sports. This is not a typical "soccer" program and players will not play soccer games, instead they focus on all motor skills and have a fun time doing it. This is a co-ed program that runs 6 - 8 weeks and meets for one 45 minute session per week Saturday mornings at Paiute Park.

Core: Core is another name for AYSO’s standard soccer program. The Core program spans the 6U (under six) to 14U (under fourteen) age divisions in our region.

  • U6 division
  • U8 division
  • U10 division
  • U12 division
  • U14 division

Practices for U6 and older are held on weeknights, depending on the coach's discretion. U6 and U8 games are played on Saturday at Paiute Park. U10 and U12 games are played Friday nights (and possibly some Thursday nights) at Mountain's Edge Regional Park. U14 games will be played at Nathaniel Jones Park or Paiute Park. (All dates, times, and fields are subject to change.)

We host two seasons a year in the Fall and Spring.

AYSO is a CHOICE
There are many soccer programs local to the Las Vegas Valley so we understand that the choices are endless. By making the AYSO choice you are choosing all the aspects of our program.  We can not allow some parents to pick and choose which aspects of our program are for them, you are choosing the whole package and by doing so you are giving your children the best soccer experience possible.

AYSO Kid Zone Pledge

1. I pledge to be on time or early when bringing my child to his/her practices and games. I understand that it may be uncomfortable for my child to be late to a game or practice and that he/she is subject to physical risk if not provided with adequate time to warm up. I understand that I am encouraged to stay during practices and games, but if I do not, I will be there when he/she is finished. Being punctual shows respect for the coach, who has other time commitments, and it tells my child that he/she is my top priority.

2. I understand that the top three reasons kids play sports are to have fun, make new friends and learn new skills. I understand that the game is for the kids, and I will encourage my child to have fun and keep sport in its proper perspective. I understand that athletes do their best when they are emotionally healthy, so I will be positive and supportive.

3. I will redefine what it is to be a Winner in my conversations with my child. Winners are people who make the maximum effort, continue to learn and improve, and do not let mistakes, or fear of making mistakes, discourage them. I understand that mistakes are an inevitable part of any game and that people learn from their mistakes. I understand that all children are born with different abilities and that the true measure of success is not how my child compares to others, but how he/she is doing in comparison to his/her best self.

4. I will Honor the Game. I understand the importance of setting a good example of sportsmanship for my child. I will show respect for all involved in the game including coaches, players, opponents, opposing fans, and referees. I understand that officials, coaches, and players make mistakes. If the referee makes a call I do not agree with, I will refrain from questioning, insulting or making personal attacks against him or her.

5. I understand that games can be exciting for my child as he/she deals with the fast-paced action of the game, responds to opponents, referees, teammates, and listens to coaches. I will not yell out instructions. During the game, I will make only sportsmanlike comments that encourage my child and other players on both teams.

6. I will not make negative comments about the game, coaches, referees or teammates in my child''s presence. This sets a bad example, which can negatively influence my child''s motivation and overall experience. I agree to act in a sportsmanlike manner and make every effort to foster a friendly and nonviolent atmosphere. I agree to honor the AYSO Parent Pledge in my words and actions.
