How to Register a player (youth) as a Volunteer

Registering youths as as referees is a little complicated in Blue Sombrero / AYSOU:

  • Go to, and then click the link in the upper right to sign up.
  • Create a new account for youth player, using a new/different email in Blue Sombrero.
  • Put in the youth player's name and address and other info as requested and click the drop down to "other" as opposed to parent or guardian.  At this point, it assumes that you are the parent registering your child to play.
  • Once past that page, click on the link for volunteer or volunteer activities.  Then there is another link to "find volunteer roles".
  • Select the program 2 - "Volunteer Registration -- MY20", and clicked available roles, and then sign up for "youth referee"
  • Once there, fill in some additional info for the youth player (which including that they are a returning volunteer as a opposed to a new volunteer), identify yourself as the parent, and then after submitting, go-to the esignature page and there is the option to sign as the parent.  Click and submit.

Fall Programs

AYSO Playground:
This program is for kids 3 & 4 years old. AYSO Playground uses group activities, soccer themes and requires parent participation to develop the fundamental motor skills that prepare kids for all sports. This is not a typical "soccer" program and players will not play soccer games, instead they focus on all motor skills and have a fun time doing it. This is a co-ed program that runs 6 weeks and meets for one 45 minute session per week Saturday mornings at Mountain's Edge Regional Park.

AYSO Schoolyard Jamboree: Also known as 5U, the Schoolyard Jamboree program exposes 4 & 5 year old kids to soccer, and teaches them the basics such as kicking, dribbling and throw-ins, all in a low-pressure setting. This program is separated by gender and requires parent participation. This program runs 8 weeks and meets for one 1 hour session per week Saturday mornings at Mountain's Edge Regional Park.

Core: Core is another name for AYSO’s standard soccer program. The Core program spans the 6U (six and under) to 14U (twelve and under) age divisions in our region and is separated by gender.

  • 6U division (5 & 6 years old)
  • 8U division (6-8 years old)
  • 10U division (8-10 years old)
  • 12U division (10-12 years old)
  • 14U division (13-14 years old)
