Parent Meeting Info

Thank you for choosing AYSO 1315 for your 'family's soccer experience'!

We call it a 'family soccer experience' because that is what we are trying to build within our organization! One huge soccer family consisting of players, coaches, referees, volunteers, parents, extended family members and friends. We hope you feel a part of it and that you'll want to help us build our family too!

AYSO is founded on 6 philosophies, I encourage you to read about them: Click Here

I want to touch on Good Sportsmanship and Volunteering (which isn't a philosophy but we feel like it should be)!

Good Sportsmanship: We strive to create a positive environment based on mutual respect instead of a win-at-all-costs attitude. This doesn't mean our program isn't competitive, it is - it means that we show respect to everyone! Each adult signed a 'Kid Zone Pledge' when they signed their child up for the program. Please review the pledge: Click Here

Just to point out a few points - the pledge states that Kids are #1 - we are here to support our players and help them grow socially, physically and emotionally. Fun - not winning is everything. 'Players play, fans cheer and coaches coach' - sideline coaching is NOT encouraged, we have many opportunities for you to volunteer to teach children how to play soccer! Please sign up! Respect the referees and all volunteers - yelling at volunteers is prohibited. No alcohol, drugs, smoking or vaping is allowed. No pets are permitted on the grass level with the practice/game field. Leave the park cleaner than you found it! Celebrate the player - win or lose!

Next, AYSO runs on volunteer power! Our league is 100% run by volunteers! Thank you to all of you who have registered to be a volunteer, the kids wouldn't be able to play without you! In the next week our coaches will be asking for more volunteers to help staff our teams. Please take a moment and think about how you can contribute to our soccer family! Each team will need an Assistant Coach, Team Parent (and at least 3 referees for U10 - U14). We are also in need of two back-up field painters.

Lastly, we are introducing a new program this year to help increase the number of referees in our region! These kids work so hard and they deserve to have 3 referees on the field calling the game and helping them learn the rules. For our U10 and U12 divisions each team will need to earn 16 referee points to play in our end of season region playoffs. U6 and U8 don't participate in the Region playoff, however, the two teams in each division with the most amount of referee points will receive money towards an end of season party! We would like to have at least 3 volunteers from each team sign up and be trained to referee. We provide all that is needed to feel comfortable on the field and you don't need to have ANY prior soccer/refereeing experience! As a Center Referee you will receive 3 points per game, as an Assistant Referee will receive 1 point per game. Please contact Matt at [email protected] for questions and how to get started! Being a Referee gives you the best seat in the house, please check it out!
