AYSO Region 1315 : Mountain's Edge-Enterprise

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

All-Stars is an invitation-only program offering an advanced skill level of soccer for players in the 10U, 12U and 14U divisions only, who participated in the previous Fall season who have demonstrated excellence in skills, enthusiasm and commitment to AYSO's core values.

This program includes Area 1S regions and games may be played in ANY of these locations:
Summerlin (1258), Pahrump (808), Mountain's Edge (1315), Bullhead City AZ (397).

  • There are no tryouts and not all players who played in the Fall Core season and register will be selected onto a team.
  • Teams play an intense schedule with games on Saturdays and Sundays from TBA through the first weekend in TBD.
  • The number of All-Star teams formed is often limited by the number of qualified parents who volunteer to referee and coach. Players whose parents volunteer to referee or coach will be given priority.
  • Those players that are selected to an All-Star Team are expected to make all practices and games as there is an attendance requirement for all players in order to play in the All-Star playoffs.

FAQS

Who can participate?
To be eligible for the All Star program, interested players MUST:

  1. Be in good financial standing with the Region.
  2. Have played in the Fall in 10U, 12U and 14U Divisions.
  3. Only players in good standing who participated in a minimum of 70% of the primary season practices and games played by the team to which the player was assigned will be deemed eligible. If injury or illness prevented participation in the required number of games then the player must have participated in 70% of the practices and games that were scheduled while the player was healthy enough to play.
  4. Upload a current player head shot (full face, no sunglasses or hats) in the player's account during registration.

How are players selected for teams?
The selection of players is a collaborative process with all head coaches having input. Players are selected based on the following:

  • observation of players during Fall Season games
  • the needs of individual teams
  • player age and roster size restrictions
  • input from the player’s Fall Season coach
  • demonstrated commitment to the practices and travel required
  • family volunteerism (very important)
  • adherence by the player and his or her family to AYSO principles and values. (very important)

It is possible that a skilled player will not be selected if, in the opinion of the coaches, a player or his or her parents are divisive or disruptive to team unity.

The number of teams formed in a division is often limited by the number of parents who volunteer to referee and coach. Players whose parents volunteer to referee or coach during the All Star season will be given priority. To be formed, All-Star teams require one Head Coach, two to three (2-3) Referees on each team.

All Star players are selected to teams at an All Star selection meeting. All players who participated in the Fall Core season are eligible to play. Coaches will choose players to be selected to a team based on their observations during regular season and recommendations made during the final evaluations held in November.

What is the Schedule?
Teams have weeknight practices 1 or 2 times a week which can start as early as mid-December and may have games every Saturday and Sunday from January through early March. There may also be weeknight games.

Those players that are selected to a team are expected to make all practices and games as there is an attendance requirement for all players in order to play in the playoffs.

When will registration be available?
Registration is available in early December. To register for the All Star program, log into your player's account and click on the Green "New Program Available". Follow the Prompts for the All Star Program including checkout for the total registration fee.

Are Volunteers Needed?
All-Stars is not a continuation of our Fall Core season but a completely separate season. Volunteer positions are needed and may need to show flexibility in the roles they will be responsible for. Parents will apply for volunteer positions and will confirm their volunteer positions prior to the player's selection to an All Star Team.

How do I apply to Coach? Referee?
Volunteers should apply to the roles during the registration process for their child. In particular, qualified and appropriately qualified Referees are always needed in every division. Final volunteer assignment will be determined during the All-Star Selection process.

What are the All Star coach requirements?
Coaches must have the following qualifications:

  • Coach Certification at the level they are coaching AND one level above. (e.g., a 12U All Star Coach will hold 12U Certification AND Intermediate Coach Certification)
  • Regional Referee Certification.
