AYSO Region 1315 Mountain's Edge is a non-profit organization with a very small operating budget. We believe the only way to be consistent and fair to each family is to apply the same policy for refund requests submitted after the posted deadline, which is no exceptions.
Our policies are written and approved by our Board of Directors and the Commissioner and Registrar are obligated to the uphold them. Region 1315 Mountain's Edge Board of Directors meet on the first Tuesday of each month (please see our Event Calendar) and anyone is welcome to provide feedback.
But the season hasn't started yet.
We turn away dozens of players each season because of the limited number of teams we are able to field (due to a limited number of volunteer head coaches). Many sign up on the waiting list and are willing to play. Your child may not have received their uniform or attended a practice, but they were given a spot on the team that could have been given to another player. We will do our best to place someone else, but the teams typically play with one less player and have one extra uniform.
But my child can not attend practice that night.
Region 1315 Mountain's Edge begins to incur costs months prior to the start of the season (eg. uniforms, field costs) and there is no guarantee that we will fill a spot for a canceled player. Our refund policy is displayed during the registration process and on several places on our website (eg. Fall page, Cancellation page, FAQ page) to ensure all registrants are aware of our cancellation policy.
But our practice field is too far away.
We understand practice is important and we all have busy lives. We try out best not to inconvenience our families but we are a very large region and you may be asked to practice on a field that is not nearby your residence. Our fields are listed under the Fields tab above and your team may practice on any of them during the season.
